Travel is more than just seeing the sights – it is about life enriching experiences, and magical heartfelt moments.
A Bit About Me...
With almost 40 years travel experience, 23 years of which have been with MTA, I am excited to combine my knowledge, love, and passion for travel to help my clients experience the extraordinary!
My life in travel began in 1986, and over the years I have worked across many different areas of the industry, from corporate and leisure travel, to groups, incentives and individually designed journeys. For more than 25 years, I have been blessed to be a part of MTA which has given me the freedom to provide the kind of personal service that has always mattered to me
Along the way, I was incredibly honoured to receive the inaugural MTA Spirit Award in 2014, in recognition of the embodiment of the values and vision of MTA Travel and the commitment to the highest service of our clients, and more recently was inducted into the MTA Hall of Fame in recognition of my many years with the company.
But after almost four decades, what I love most about travel hasn't really changed.
It is still the people, the places, the experiences and those wonderful moments that stay with you long after you have returned home. It is still a privilege to help someone turn an idea, a dream or sometimes a simple feeling of “I need to get away” into a journey that is perfect for them.
Because I Care...
Travel is no longer just about tourism, rather it is an incredibly powerful catalyst for change. It truly has the capacity to transform lives, and I love supporting my clients on that journey.
The world is changing, and the reasons why people travel are changing too... people are living with higher levels of stress, a lot less time on their hands, and many more pressures than ever before.
As a consequence, people are searching – searching for a way to feel better, to slow down, reset, to figure out where they belong, what their purpose is and how they can feel lighter, more alive and connected.
My clients are like family to me - unique, valued, and important, and what they are looking for is just as special.
I care about your experience and your journey.
How I Can Help...
My intention is to work closely with you to create unforgettable memories, magical moments and to help make your travel dreams a reality.
Perhaps you are longing to slow down and restore, ready to reconnect with yourself, looking for somewhere that fills you with wonder, or simply wanting to discover somewhere new.
I can help you explore new paths, experience exciting adventures, challenge yourself as you step outside your comfort zone and create opportunities to help you feel free and alive.
Whether that means creating your own Personal Sanctuary Escape, finding the right wellness resort or retreat, or joining me on one of my group journeys, I can help find the experience that is perfect for you and your needs.
Most of all, I am all about taking care of you and your travel needs in the best possible way I know how!
Whatever you are looking for I am ready to help you make it happen!
How I Got Here...
Getting started in the travel industry wasn't quite as straightforward as it sounds!
At that time, you could not work in the travel industry unless you had the qualification of Fares and Ticketing, and you could not obtain that qualification unless you worked in travel! Catch 22! To get around this problem, I completed the Associate Diploma in Travel and Tourism which at the time was the only industry qualification available.
My career began with a two year placement at TravelScene, starting at the bottom and learning the basics.
My passion was to be a consultant, so when the opportunity arose to take on a Corporate consulting role at Westpac Travel, I grabbed it with both hands! Once there I worked my way up from a junior domestic consultant to a senior international supervisor over my seven years there.
After leaving to start a family, I then took on various roles including three years at Travel In Fashion where I developed my skills in Group and Incentive travel.
A change in circumstances, created a “fork in the road” moment which lead me down a new path to MTA - Mobile Travel Agents.
I didn't know it at the time, but that decision would shape the next 25 years of my career and allow me to build the kind of travel business I had always wanted — one centered around people, personal service and creating extraordinary travel experiences.
When Travel Becomes Something More...
Over the years, my own journey has changed me, and with it has come a desire to use my experience in travel in a different way — to help people who are searching for something more.
People who want to reconnect — with themselves, with others and with something greater. People who want to grow, awaken something within themselves and experience more of the magic, beauty and wonder that life has to offer.
They are looking for moments of self care and stillness, opportunities to go within, reflect and reconnect with who they are. They also want to step outside their comfort zone, have fun, experience new things, feel inspired and discover parts of themselves they may have forgotten were there.
Sometimes that might happen while sitting quietly beside the ocean. Sometimes it might come from standing somewhere so extraordinary that it takes your breath away, walking an ancient spiritual path, connecting with another culture, being challenged to do something you never thought you would do, or simply having the time and space to hear your own inner voice again.
Travel has an incredible ability to awaken something within us. It can change our perspective, reconnect us with what matters, remind us
of what is possible and open us to the magic that exists both within ourselves and in the world around us.
That is what you will find at the heart of Teresa Mills Wellness Travel.
To create journeys that are about more than simply seeing the world — journeys that give you the opportunity to reconnect, restore, wonder and discover, and perhaps return home having awakened something within you that had been there all along
